Privacy policy
Last updated:
This policy explains what personal information Glow & Thread (“we,” “us”) collects when you visit this website, book with us, or come in for a service, and how we use and protect it. We keep it simple: we collect only what we need to take care of you, and we never sell your information.
Information we collect
Information you give us.
- Booking details: your name, phone number, email address, the services you choose and appointment notes, collected through our booking provider, Square.
- Payment details: deposits and payments are processed by Square. We never see or store your full card number.
- Messages: anything you send us by phone, text, WhatsApp or social media.
- Consultation and health information: before some services we ask about your skin, allergies, medications, pregnancy and relevant medical history so we can treat you safely.
- Photos: before-and-after photos, taken only with your permission.
Information collected automatically. This website uses Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to count page visits and measure how fast pages load. These tools don't use cookies. They record things like the page viewed, the referring website, your browser and device type and your approximate country. They don't identify you personally or follow you to other websites. Our hosting provider (Vercel) also keeps short-lived technical logs, such as IP addresses, to keep the site secure and running.
How we use your information
- To book, confirm, remind you about, and provide your appointments.
- To answer your questions and messages.
- To perform services safely and keep a record of your treatments.
- To process deposits and payments.
- To share results on our website and social media, but only with photos you've agreed we can use. We don't name or tag you unless you ask us to.
- To understand how our website is used and improve it.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
How we share information
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We share it only with service providers that help us run the business, and only as needed:
- Square: online booking, appointment reminders and payments. See Square's privacy notice.
- Vercel: website hosting and privacy-friendly analytics.
- Google Maps: the map on our contact page is provided by Google, which may set its own cookies when the map loads.
- WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook: if you contact or follow us there, those platforms handle your information under their own privacy policies.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business.
Health information
Consultation and health details are kept confidential. We use them only to decide whether a service is right for you and to perform it safely. We don't share them with anyone unless you ask us to or the law requires it.
Texts, calls and emails
When you book, Square sends appointment confirmations and reminders by email or text. We'll only send you promotional messages if you've agreed to receive them, and you can opt out at any time. Reply STOP to a text, use the unsubscribe link in an email, or just tell us.
How long we keep information
We keep client and treatment records for as long as you're a client and for a reasonable time after, as needed for your care and to meet legal and tax obligations. After that we delete them or make them anonymous.
How we protect information
We use reputable providers with industry-standard security. Payments are encrypted and handled by Square. We limit who can access client records. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop using your photos. You can also opt out of promotional messages at any time. We may need to keep some records where the law requires it. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights under your state's privacy laws; contact us and we'll help.
Because this site doesn't track you across other websites, it doesn't respond differently to “Do Not Track” browser signals.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them online. Clients under 18 need a parent or guardian's consent for services (see our terms of service).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
